One a penny, two a penny.......

This week I kept chilly spirits up by going to see.........

Dreamthinkspeak's, In The Beginning Was The End, at Somerset House, well underneath Somerset House. They create site-specific theatre and if you've never seen a production don't think, don't pause, don't hesitate for one minute just book tickets.......utterly amazing.

Then I went to see Sinead O'Connor and her band, perform a rousing show. I haven't seen her live since New York back in the 90s and it was lovely to see her looking so well and in such good voice........ electrifying.

Then today the sun shone and I went to buy the best hotcross buns in town at Ottolenghi's and bumped into the great Yotam himself. So, I came home.....
....... and I created Still Life With Buns...........Happy Easter.

Top tip: keep warm by dancing round the kitchen to Sinead O'Connor's, How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?

  8. She had a one in a million face and voice. I read an article about her marrying many times? having four or five children and coming to terms with herself. Glad she's back on the stage

  12. I've been keeping warm painting the kitchen! The buns looks great. Never seen Sinead live but seen her perform and she has the "X factor" far more than anyone who ever graduated off said show

  14. Sadly I do not live anywhere near Mr O's fine establishment so couldn't sample his buns, but I did nip out to the local bakery on Good Friday morning to get some still warm from the oven. Utter nectar! I was dancing to Kirsty McColl. even though I am a big Sinead fan. Happy Easter.

  15. Lucky you live where you live, as I understand hot cross buns are a sacred food for you Brits. I have a friend who has been moaning all week that you can't find a decent one in the whole of Los Angeles.

  19. I'm glad Sinead O'Connor is coming back. It seems she's had a rough time over the last few years. I used to love her.

  20. Daffodils and hot-cross buns, such a perfect spring combination. I love Sinead, a bit of colour in the often bland world of music.
