The dog days of summer all gone......

Summertime and the living was easy…..but now it’s back to
school back to reality. Do we ever forget that September
feeling: new penil case, new shoes, new class? This time I
won’t mess up with my homework, stay on top of it, get
gold stars......
How quickly we forgot the bleak mid-summer, heating on in
June.
“I had to, it was freezing.” whispred behind hands,
Hot water bottles stuffed beneath duvets, umbrellas and boots
ever ready, that was summer before July and then…..the sun
came out. And stayed out. Out and proud.
Top tip: winter can be so cold for those with no warm memories......let the sunshine in.

  4. It's been glorious! Getting a bit chilly in the evenings, and autumnal generally, but a time for new beginnings.

  5. I'm a summer fan but we're stuck in a major heatwave and I'm praying for the temps to dip. Guess I should be careful what I wish for because I do not like the cold. I yiyi.
Enjoy the last days of sunshine.

  9. What a lovely pink cocktail! The summer here was ridiculously rainy. I am hoping for a dry autumn.

  13. You always have such great piccies, those pink jandals begging to be worn some more weeks... We were having an Indian summer - 90 degrees! but now all faded away...sad.

  14. It is still summer here. In the 90's yesterday, but it can't last long... can it?

  16. Yes summer has disappeared fast here too. I love that line in "You've got Mail " where he promises to send her a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils in September - Even though my kids are no longer at school, September still feels like the start of a new year to me. Still time for a late flash of Indian Summer though xxxxxx

  18. Ha Ha! yes, on our holiday in the Western Isles, I took a hot water bottle, and also a sleeveless vest-top and sun-hat. I actually used all three, at different stages of the week! The summer did get a lot better, though.
