How do I know I'm getting old?

Let me count the ways........

I'm getting old because I like watching Michael Portillo on his train journeys....yes I know!

I'm getting old because I love sleeping in my own bed and have started saying things like, 'It's lovely to be home....'

I'm getting old because I'd rather buy one good bottle of wine than clank home with as many cheapies as I can carry.

I'm getting old because I collect empty jars and am extra happy when I acquire a particularly interestingly shaped one.

I'm getting old because I tut at the radio.

I'm getting old because I tut in general.

I'm getting old because I have a special stick for stirring paint.

Top tip: raclette cheese..... if you don't have the requisite grill just melt it onto a backed potato.... delicious!!

  10. Ha! I laughed at the special stick for stirring paint. I don't have that yet, but I have become a tutter and I noticed I've started saying, "Ah, lovely" when I climb into bed each night.

  12. I don't call those getting old. I just call them getting a bit quirky. Or just being human. I expect there are plenty of youngsters who like to be at home and in their own bed. And plenty of youngsters who rant about the news.

  16. Ha! I, too, have a special stick for stirring paint. (Tho not a special stick for poking rubbish; or at least not yet...) Loved your list and do all of those things except collect jars. Definitely getting old!

  17. Am very ancient indeed and much prefer to stay home and do nothing than rush about doing culturally improving things in NY city.
Have decided that it is not important to have seen and done EVERYTHING....
We'll all be dead sooner or later and no one really cares how many museums you have seen.
Another thing no one cares in the least about is how much anyone weighs... except themselves and they should shut up about it...
    just my pet peeve.

I love going out for lunch -is this a symptom of antiquity?
